Experimentation is the life blood of photography, and Processing Tools are the lungs that oxygenate that blood and get the brain cells whirring. Hopefully you will see an essential truth buried in that sentence. And today’s image is an example of experimentation
How about rustling the leaves on a calm day? No wind machine required. Photoshop can assist.

Sadly this image is not from this Spring but it’s still an image that I enjoy and it was simply achieved by the use of Filter/Distort/Twirl as an overlay blended into the background layer to imitate the sense of movement.

Photoblog Images on Flickr
For those of you who regularly follow this blog (and also of particular interest for newish followers), you may like to know that I have now finally uploaded all the images used on my Photoblog since it began last September into three Sets linked together in a Collection on Flickr.
This provides you with the opportunity to skim through a large number of images from my blog. As of today there are 425 to browse through – I can’t quite believe that Stat. The Post that each image is associated with is named and dated in the image description. If you find an interesting image you might have missed on the Blog, then armed with the ‘month’ and the title you should be able to locate the post using the Archives widget in the sidebar and take a look

A very nice picture – and well use of the twirl filter, which is a feature in Photoshop that I hardly ever use. Thus very inspiring to see how you have used it here. Also congratulations with all the pictures you have made accessible through Flickr.

Many thanks for your comment, Otto. I mainly use the Twirl filter when I want to have some fun, but in this instance I tried using it in a subtle way and I was pleased with the effect when it was blended in. Thank you too for your comments on Flick – glad you liked them.
