This is the facade of a building on Oxford Street. A very unusual 3D facade with geometric projections, each of which reflects the sky. I have photographed it several times, and on each occasion the overall effect is different. It looked particularly camera-worthy on this occasion.
About LensScaper
Hi - I'm a UK-based photographer who started out 45+ years ago as a lover of landscapes, inspired by my love of outdoor pursuits: skiing, walking and climbing. Now retired, I seldom leave home without a camera and I find images in unexpected places and from different genres. I work on the premise that Photography is Art and that creativity is dependent on the cultivation of 'A Seeing Eye'.
Just amazing….almost a stained glass effect!

Thanks Sue – Yes, I agree, stained glass comes to mind.

Hi Paula. If you walk east on Oxford Street (towards Tottenham Court Rd) it’s about 200yds on the south side. Almost alongside is the narrow passage that leads to the Photographers Gallery

This is wonderful. It reminds me of a wall of crystals along a trail at the Crystal Bridges Museum. Because they’re oriented every which way, some reflect the sky, some the trees, some the surrounding rocks. Of course the patterns aren’t as formal as these, but the effect is similar. I really, really like this.

Similar concept by the sound of it, Linda. Far too many walk by this without a second glance!

Definitely one of the best window reflections I’ve ever seen.

Hi Vicki. Thanks are due to the window – it’s very unusual, perhaps unique.

It sure was camera-worthy! At first glance it seems it must be something you collaged together. I love the complexity – the more one looks, the more variations one sees. With all the reflections, the design echoes so many different art history references – you could see William Morris, Islamic architecture, oh, I don’t know, probably just about anything! It’s beautiful. I’m glad you photographed it.

Thanks Lynn. If I’m ever in Oxford Street, and I usually am most months, I walk the 200yds up the street to where this building is and take a look. It’s close to the Photographers Gallery so doubly worth the short walk.
