An undulating broad ribbon of reflective material hanging from a ceiling in a newly-opened superstore yielded this abstract image. Never forget to look up!

You live in the most reflective world. I can’t remember ever seeing reflective material used in stores around here — of course, I avoid malls like the plague, so that could be part of it.
I really like this one. I never would have figured it for what it actually is, but I do like the the way it seems to present different sorts of stylized waves: especially the curl on the far right, and the running waves in the middle left. The colors are great, too. Look up, indeed!

This is one of a number of undulating ribbons or bands of reflective material (?metal) hanging high above an atrium in this large store. With every step the image changes. This is in the town to which we will shortly be moving and may well feature again in future posts. The difficulty is getting the images without getting apprehended.

Now, that’s strange. Getting apprehended? You’re taking a photo, not mugging someone!

But Stores are ‘private property’ and therefore they and their staff can make up their own rules.

Ah. I guess I’d never thought of that, but of course I’ve never attempted to take a photo in a store!

Another ooooooooooooo photo from you! Doesn’t matter what it is—the lines and shapes and colors are great.

Thanks Linda. I will be looking up at this again in an hour or two, might even take another image if security aren’t watching

Fascinating image Andy! Definitely worth getting your collar felt for! 🙂

Thanks Adrian. My collar is un-felt today, and we were in too much of a hurry to linger for a picture. One of these days the pace of life will slow a bit…
