Blossom is one of the delights of Spring, and one that is gone far too soon. Down the bottom of our garden we have Plum and Apple trees. The Plum comes into blossom first and, by previous years, this year it was later than usual.
The Apple blossom follows on. First the pin sized specks of Pink, that gradually swell, and then the creamy white petals emerge.
The full beauty of the Apple blossom will be revealed in a few days time.
Looks like some of mine, some are further advanced….

The further south you are, the earlier Spring seems to arrive in general. Actually we have about five Apple trees, or is it six (all inherited with the house) and only one is coming into flower right now, the others have at least another week to go before they will break out their blossom.

We are getting close to apple blossom time here but it’s nice to get this little preview.

I know, I know. You’ve captured plum and apple, not cherry and apple. Still, I can’t help but remember this one, from 1955! Your photos are lovely, and the memories are great. There are some real gems in the video, too.

Oh yes – I’m old enough to remember that tune, Linda but I hadn’t seen the video before. Thanks for that. We used to have a Cherry tree, but we’ve sold off that bit of the garden although I could of course raid the Archive and find an an image.

Many thanks Jimi. Spring is always such a welcome sight – if only it lasted another whole month.

Catching up from a shooting trip last week and I hoped spring had come. Still a little chilly. At least it made it to your part of the world Andy. Nice pics.

Thanks Len. Having a had a good week or two of unseasonably warm weather, the cold has returned with chilly northern winds. Spring has been slowed a bit but the blossom may suffer if we have too many sharp overnight frosts.
