Above the Subway

A quick post today.  I was walking through a subway at Elephant and Castle, London last week, sizing up the walkway for a photograph when I saw a Bus creeping into view. Camera was on, ready to shoot. Gotcha!

About LensScaper

Hi - I'm a UK-based photographer who started out 45+ years ago as a lover of landscapes, inspired by my love of outdoor pursuits: skiing, walking and climbing. Now retired, I seldom leave home without a camera and I find images in unexpected places and from different genres. I work on the premise that Photography is Art and that creativity is dependent on the cultivation of 'A Seeing Eye'. I'm not averse to manipulating images to produce derivatives that may sometimes be far removed from the original.

Nice leading lines to that colorful bus Andy.

  2. Don’t you just love it when things go your way. Very nice capture indeed 🙂

  3. All these lines make me explore every inch of this photograph. Nice work!

Very nice, I use to live around there when I first came over to the UK.

    The “decisive moment” shot.

  6. Perfect grab, Andy. It pays to be prepared. 😉

This shot would be interesting without the bus, or with a not-red bus. But the red bus takes it to another level.
Someone has gone to a lot of trouble to make the railings go from blue to grey. I wonder if that is done with forethought.

Wonderful lines and interesting graphics make this a compelling shot to explore. Looks like they have smartened up the Elephant & Castle since I was last there – all I remember are swaths of plain concrete and rather grubby concrete at that.

  9. Nice use of lines and patterns here Andy. Really draws the viewer in.
